THE EDGE OF DAWN: A LIMINAL HOUR

CONTEXT
At a time when Ukraine is fighting for its independence and national identity, art becomes a powerful instrument of resistance and renewal. Ukrainians continue to demonstrate to the world an unwavering will to live and the ability to create even in the most challenging circumstances.

The new PRZHONSKA collection was created during wartime, shaped by profound cultural and historical events that have already become part of the nation’s collective memory.

CONCEPT

The new PRZHONSKA collection embodies elements of drama and theatricality, unfolding in three distinct blocks that trace a gradual transition from darkness to light.

It begins with minimalist silhouettes defined by sharply extended shoulders, crafted from heavy wool, silk, and jacquard in deep black hues - the color of a raven’s wing or a star-filled night sky.

Three-dimensional floral elements and dense textures create a sense of tension, uncertainty, and anxiety. This is night as a state a space of chaos and inner emptiness, where control is lost and darkness feels infinite.

The second part represents the moment before dawn a liminal hour, when darkness still lingers but light is already being born.

The palette unfolds into fuchsia, violet, aubergine, ultramarine blue, deep green, and pink reflections like the sky just before sunrise. Velvet and textured fabrics recreate the depth and shifting nature of the nocturnal horizon. Blue sequins, introduced by the brand for the first time, shimmer and disappear with movement. Their fleeting glow symbolizes the fragile, almost imperceptible moment of held breath between anxiety and light.

The final block transitions into sandy, beige, and milky tones that gradually dissolve into pure white. Silhouettes become lighter, fabrics softer and brighter. In this collection, white represents clarity and dawn as inevitability. It is an image of faith and a future born after the longest night.

At the heart of the show stands the voice a fundamental form of presence that cannot be taken away. The voice becomes the bearer of memory, dignity, and future.

At the center of the stage is Maryana Holovko, a cultural figure and a powerful feminine archetype. Her a cappella performance exists beyond genre and beyond conventional definitions of a musical act. It is a bare human voice emerging from breath, moving through tension and leading us toward light.

This is a journey from darkness to light.

The voice is born in one person, yet it does not belong to one alone. The voice is something that cannot be taken from a brave nation.

This is a story about a voice that does not fall silent, even in the dark.
